Presentation

When he started ocean racing, Yannick Bestaven was the sponsor of his Mini 6.50. Today, he is his IMOCA co-skipper.

Julien started competitive sailing in sport-studies in La Rochelle.

In 2011, he met Yannick Bestaven, during the Les Sables-d'Olonne - Horta race, in Class40. One thing leading to another, he became his trainer for the 2011 Transat Jacques Vabre, which he won with Eric Douglazet.

In 2012, Julien and Yannick Bestaven took part in their first race together, during the Normandy Channel Race in Class40. They had a great "remontada" to finish on the podium (3rd). For the record, Yannick then became the sponsor of Julien's Mini 6.50 Novintiss in 2015, where he finished 2nd in the Mini Transat.

After two years in the Mini (2013 and 2015), Julien turned to the Figaro by joining Team Vendée Formation for two years, two years which allowed him to fulfil his desire to race solo.

During Yannick Bestaven's victorious Vendée Globe, Julien Pulvé worked with the technical team during the winter refit, but also on board for technical sailing and partner outings.
