Presentation

Gérald began ocean racing on the Figaro circuit, under the colours of Scutum from 2004 to 2007. In 2008, he created the "Skipper Macif" programme with MACIF, which aims to sponsor a skipper for two Figaro seasons. Today, he can be found in the IMOCA class.

In 2010, he participated in the Transat AG2R with Jeanne Grégoire on the Figaro Banque Populaire, then helped Arnaud Boissières prepare for the Route du Rhum on his IMOCA.

In 2011, he participated in the Tour de France à la Voile with Cédric Pouligny on the M34 BAEsystems powered by Oman Sail, then in the Transat Jacques Vabre alongside Arnaud, on Akena Verandas, with the support of the Scutum group.

After that, he did quite a few races as a professional on owner's boats in the South of France, but also in England and the West Indies. Even though his name has not been mentioned much in recent years, he has continued to sail and follow ocean racing projects.

During the last Vendée Globe 2020, he helped Alexia Barrier in her project.

At the end of the 2022 Route du Rhum, Gérald co-skippered with Arnaud Boissières La Mie Caline to bring the IMOCA boat back to Les Sables d'Olonne, in order to prepare for the 2023 season of the IMOCA circuit, under the sign of double-handed sailing.
